From a distance, this looks like a pretty design. Get closer & the colors might remind you of sun or flowers.
The color choices came from the Kansas flag. Bright blue, gold & yellow all appear on the flag. The motto of Kansas is "ad astra per aspera". That's Latin for "to the stars through difficulties" symbolizing surviving a harsh environment.
For me, it honors my Kansas family. Strong, resilient, tough & boy, can we hide pain behind a smile! Through many challenges, we keep on going.
If it's a struggle, some of us say
"Keep fucking going"
because sometimes that's just the thing to do! Grandma Mabel Miner Boler passed along many lessons in intestinal fortitude.
PG version = Keep flipping going.
A friend decided it meant “Kindness, Forgiveness, Grace”. That works!
What could KFG mean to your family?
Keep the acronym a secret or explain it & start a conversation. Strangers might be more in tune with your challenges than you think.
We all face things "per aspera"! |
